Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Who's going into the infamous house?

Celebrity Big Brother is just around the corner and we can’t get enough of the potential stars that are heading into the infamous house.

Channel 5 is as usual keeping the official line-up under wraps until the series starts on Tuesday, however and speculation is mounting about a certain few names that keep popping up.

As reported earlier this month, show bosses are introducing an all-female line up at the start of the series for the first time in the show’s history, as a nod to women’s suffrage, which reaches its centenary next month.

What do we know so far?

The series is themed and will aim to ‘challenge gender stereotypes’. The line-up will feature a wide spectrum of women, from politicians to performing artists, to explore how they will interact together before the male housemates enter.

A spokeswoman for the show said: “This series with an all-female cast of celebrity housemates in a salute to a centenary of women’s suffrage on Channel 5.

"Presented by Emma Willis, Celebrity Big Brother will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact, from politicians to performing artists, as they enter the house first, ahead of the celebrity male housemates.”

We already know that journalist Rachel Johnson – Boris Johnson’s sister – is down for the stint after being confirmed by the broadcaster.

She follows in the footsteps of her father Stanley, who was in this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

UPDATE: Here's who is going in tonight

Here are some other names that are down for the series…

Sandi Bogle and Sandra Martin

Sandra Martin

Despite denying rumours that she is about to follow in her Gogglebox pal Sandi Bogle’s footsteps, Sandra has backtracked again by telling the Sun: “I’m so happy right now, I’m in a great place.

“I’m going into Celebrity Big Brother next week and I’m so excited.”

However In an earlier tweet, she admitted that she hadn’t even been contacted by the show to appear.

Make up your own mind who’s telling porkies.

Sinitta

It seems that Simon Cowell’s ex girlfriend is rumoured for every reality show going.

But the So Macho singer may have put Channel 5 off after telling Lorraine: “I made reasonable, nice demands to make it nice for everyone.

"They said my demands were ridiculous, but I thought they were reasonable.”

Michaella McCollum

It isn’t the first time that one half of the Peru Two drug mules has been rumoured to be entering the house.

The 24-year-old was said to be going in in the summer edition of the reality show earlier this year.

Michaella and her mate Melissa Reid were jailed in 2013 for attempting to carry £1.5million of cocaine from Peru to Madrid.

It would be a pretty dodgy move by Channel 5 to pay a convicted felon to go in the house, but then again it wouldn’t surprise us.

India Willoughby

Channel 5 host India (above) made history when she transitioned and became the nation's first trans newsreader.

Born Jonathan Willoughby, she presented ITV's regional news in Carlisle for ten years as a man, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2015.

She also has regular slots on This Morning and Loose Women.

Shobna Gulati

According to the Mirror, the Dinnerladies actress has been in talks with bosses for a while.

Shobna is best known for playing Sunita Alahan in Coronation Street between 2001 and 2006, before returning to the soap from 2009 to 2013.

Michelle Mone

Billionaire lingerie boss Michelle Mone has reportedly been offered £350,000 to go into the house.

The Sun says that show bosses are hoping she will bring a touch of ‘class’ to the all-female line-up.

Laura Simpson

Aka the Wayne Rooney girl. We’re not exactly sure how she will contribute to challenging gender stereotypes, unless she’s a professor of some kind. But we’re keeping an open mind.

Louise Thompson

Pro-Brexit MP Louise lost her Bristol North West seat in June following 2017's snap election.

A source told the Sun: "January's series is all about strong, empowered women.

"Channel 5 bosses have been desperate to sign a female politician and are thrilled that they've managed to land Charlotte."

Jonny Mitchell

What about the men?

While the show is going to be focussed around "the year of the woman", according to presenter Emma Willis in the series trailer (below), there will be a few men that make the grade.

Love Island’s Jonny Mitchell is on the radar, probably hoping to make a better impression than he did in the villa over the summer, as is R&B star Ginuwine.

The Apprentice candidate Andrew Brady is also a potential, along with TOWIE favourite Pete Wicks.

Celebrity Big Brother: Year Of The Woman will launch at 9pm on January 2, 2018, presented by Emma Willis.

The main series will be followed by the return of Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side, hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal.
