Dancing on Ice: Show bosses announce last minute twist for Sunday's semi-final

Thursday 1st March 2018

With just days to go until the Dancing on Ice semi-final, the skaters have been set a new challenge to impress the judges.

Only four celebrities remain and this weekend will separate the weak from the strong as they are tasked with performing two completely new routines each with their professional partners, which will both be marked by the judges.

Max Evans, Brooke Vincent, Jake Quickenden and Kem Cetinay will all be hoping to wow judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo enough to earn their place in the final, which takes place on March 11.

Weatherman Alex Beresford was eliminated last weekend following a skate off with Kem.

Meanwhile in the betting, bookmakers have Jake Quickenden as the overwhelming odds-on favourite to win the reality series.

Jake was the 3/1 favourite before the show had even began, and bar one week where Max was briefly joint-favourite, has been the runaway leader in the betting throughout.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “There will be a few excited punters waiting on Jake getting the job done but it now looks like it is his to lose after a string of irresistible displays on the ice.

It is very rare to see somebody odds on with three contestants still to beat and that just goes to show how dominant he has been.”

Dancing on Ice 2018 semi-final takes place on Sunday night from 6pm on ITV.
