Donel Mangena the clear favourite to win The Voice UK grand final

Friday 6th April 2018

The grand final of The Voice is only round the corner and it looks like one act in particular is a hit with the bookmakers.

Donel Mangena, on Team will.i.am, has been odds-on to scoop the win on the ITV singing show since his blind audition, and he’s not budging from the top spot.

The 16-year-old has been the favourite since the very first show, starting at odds of 4/1 and subsequently being steadily backed into odds-on status at most bookies.

He's not even won yet but already he's been invited by Prince Harry to perform at the Queens 92nd birthday party.

“Punters up and down the country will be cheering on teenage sensation Donel in the final and it would be a major shock if he wasn’t crowned champion,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

Four acts will take their place in the line-up and Ruti Olajugbagbe the main danger to Donel, the second favourite (see below for up to date odds).

“Ruti’s really come up on the rails and having been given no chance a few weeks ago now seems the only person that can stop Donel,” added Aitkenhead.

Lauren Bannon, on Team Olly Murs, and Belle Voci are both outsiders for the finale.

Reality Bite's vlogger Lydia Lucy revealed earlier this week she is – literally – going against the odds and backing the opera duet, on Jennifer Hudson's team.

The winners' single will be released straight after the final as part of their prize of bagging an incredible record deal with Polydor.
