Tonight marks the start of Britain’s Got Talent's live semi-finals and excitement is mounting for what has been dubbed the most competitive series ever.
The live semi-final episodes start tonight and air every evening that week until Friday, May 31.
Each show will begin at 7.30pm on ITV and end at 9pm to make way for Coronation Street., before a half-hour results show from 9.30pm.
Eight acts will perform in each semi-final before being put to an audience vote, with the two winners put through to the final, which will air on Sunday, June 3 from 7.30pm until 10.05pm.
For the first time in BGT history Declan Donnelly will fly solo as presenter in the live shows after it was announced earlier this year that Antony McPartlin would be stepping down from presenting duties for the “foreseeable future”.
And there’s been a little—but important—change in many of the bookmakers odds, who now make Marc Spelmann (see video below) and Jack & Tim the joint favourites to win the show at around 5/1.
Previously it had been the singing father and son at 5/1 and the magician at 6/1.
They are marginally ahead of Lost Voice Guy (6/1 to win), Gruffydd Wyn (6/1) and The D-Day Darlings (8/1) in what has become a pretty fierce competition.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It’s turning into one of the most competitive Britain’s Got Talent we’ve ever seen with customers queuing up to back their favourite act to win.
"We’ve given single figure odds to five acts ahead of the live shows and either one of them could go on to win it."
Tonight’s live show sees Lost Voice Guy (see video below) and the D-Day Darlings perform, as well as golden buzzer winner Lifford Shillingford.
Coral go 5/4 that stand up comedian Lost Voice Guy wins the show, with 2/1 for the D-Day Darlings and 4/1 for Lifford.
Aitkenhead added: “Comedian Lee Ridley, under the name of Lost Voice Guy, has been a real star to come out of the show already and we think he’s the one to beat in tonight’s heat."
Elsewhere Bet365 go evens that Lost Voice Guy will get through tonight, with the The D-Day Darlings at 2/1.
The bookie has Lifford Shillingford at 10/1, then Maddox (12/1) and Shameer Rayes (12/1)
At the other end of the table are Matt Johnson (22/1) Ellie & Jeki (25/1) then outsider Cali Swing (100/1)
