'I was gobsmacked!' Lydia Lucy reveals her favourite performance so far on The Voice UK

Tuesday 6th March 2018

After the first round of lacklustre battles, Lydia Lucy was blown away by two acts over the weekend on The Voice UK.

The former finalist said she was “gobsmacked” by Tesni Jones and Jason Nicholson-Porter’s battle singing Let It Be.

The pair, on Jennifer Hudson’s team, sang their hearts out to the Beatles classic – so much so that Lydia admits to watching the performance over and over on YouTube.

“I can’t stress to you how many times I have watched the Tesni and Jason battle,” she says in her vlog below.

“I think I’m all their views on Youtube. They left me gobsmacked.

“When I heard their piano rehearsal I thought it was going to be the best battle of the night. In fact it’s my favourite so far out of everybody.

“I didn’t even write anything down apart from ‘wow’. I was on the edge of my seat.”

Jason was chosen by their mentor to go through to the next round, and Lydia was “gutted” that Tesni was not stolen by fellow coaches Olly Murs, will.i.am or Sir Tom Jones.

“I just wish Tessnee was stolen,” she said. “When the middle part came and she was going for it – I loved it. I’m gutted for her but excited to see what Jason does on the next round.”

Listen to Lydia’s thoughts on the second battle below.
