I'm a Celebrity: The worst Bushtucker trials of all time

Monday 29th October 2018

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is just around the corner, and what better way to count down the days until the new series than a look back on some Bushtucker trials?

In this list we are bringing you the most horrifying and disgusting challenges we have ever seen on the show.

From lovely cocktails of blended sheep’s brains to dark holes filled with rats and mice, here are the 5 worst Bushtucker trails, of all time.

5. Fashanu statement

In the 2003 series of the show, ex-football ace John Fashanu took part in a trail that would make most people freak out. Sporting a modified pair of pants, Fashanu had to share his trousers with all kinds of creepy crawlies and nasties, including maggots, spiders, grubs and even rats. Shudder.

4.  Royal hell

Former royalist and super posh TV personality Paul Burrell took part in the challenge known as Hell Holes. Poor Paul had to blindly put his entire arm into small holes to retrieve the stars.

These weren’t empty, of course—inside them were an array of jungle critters such as biting ants, spiders, and again, rats. The fact that he didn’t know what was lurking in there no doubt made it much worse.

As a viewer, nothing was better than hearing Paul's posh accent letting out shrieks of terror. Ant and Dec could barely contain themselves throughout the segment.

3.  The Scareoke

Mylene Klass may have hit headlines for her revealing shower escapades in the jungle, but one thing that wasn’t glamorous was her last trial, titled Scareoke.

Not only did she have to sing five of the worst songs known to man, she had to be subject to all kinds of dropping goodies. Sludge and critters definitely aren’t a fun combination.

At the end of the trail the reluctant singer refused to take a peek at what had fallen on her during the trail—and we don’t blame her.

2. The Vile Vineyard.

A team of four campmates including Melanie Sykes and Tinchy Stryder had to drink some of the worst concoctions known to man—mostly liquidised, and keep them down.

You can just imagine the fact that these concoctions had been blended probably made them that much more vom-inducing.

1. Bushtucker Bonanza

George Takei took part in the WORST eating challenge ever on the show, having to chow down on grubs, locusts, kangaroo penises and cockroaches. Most of which where alive.

The actor, who played Sulu on Star Trek, took it all in his stride though and cracked jokes all the way through.

Perhaps this was nothing after having faced off Klingons for the majority of his career.
