Well it’s not going anywhere so you better get used to it.
And the bookies think that this weekend will bring even hotter temperatures to the UK.
Coral has slashed the odds on it being the hottest end of May Bank Holiday since records began to 2/1 (from 4/1) with the mercury looking set to break the 30C mark.
The current hottest end of May Bank Holiday came in 1944, when 32.8C was recorded on the 29th in Horsham, Sussex.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It’s going to be a sweltering Bank Holiday this weekend with temperatures rocketing despite the threats of showers, and we’ve slashed our odds on the record tumbling with forecasts showing that 30C or more is a genuine possibility.
Coral are currently offering odds of 3/1 on next month being the hottest June on record, as punters begin to back the warm weather to continue.
“Hopes are high for the weather to continue its upwards curve and we’ve already seem a few optimistic punters backing a record breaking June too,” added Aitkenhead.
