It's lie detector time on Love Island... and Dani Dyer isn't happy with Jack Fincham

Monday 23rd July 2018

Finally we’re about to get some juicy action in the Love Island villa that could change EVERYTHING.

It’s the return of the dreaded lie detector tonight, and if last year is anything to go by, you can bet the questions are perfectly designed to make some of them sweat… and some of them fail (remember Marcel and Gabby’s fall from grace?)

The girls are asking the burning questions so it’s the boys who will be hoping and praying for a clean sheet.

Bookies favourite Dani Dyer says she hopes that her boyfriend Jack Fincham passes “with flying colours”—but it looks like the power couple could be about to hit a rocky patch.

The pair have been solid throughout the series—they've been odds-on to be winning couple with the bookmakers pretty much since the start—even when show producers tried to mess with Dani’s head when Jack came face-to-face with his ex in Casa Amor.

But her to-the-point questions for him, including ‘have you fancied any other girls’ and ‘are you in love with Dani’—don’t exactly bring back a 100% score.

After the test, she confronts newly bearded Jack about the answers she isn’t happy with, but he hits back: “It’s just annoying me that you’re now talking about all the negative ones.”

She replies: “Any girl in the world if they’ve got that question and their boyfriend got it wrong they would be upset.”

(Please don’t let this be the end of the greatest love story reality TV has ever seen...)

Meanwhile Wes Nelson who might need a lie down after the grilling from girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson, who isn’t messing about.

Her questions include: Do you think you’ll struggle to stay faithful to Megan with all the attention you’ll get on the outside? Do you think Megan is wife material? And, are you embarrassed to take Megan home to your parents?

New Jack Fowler also gets a shock when it turns out old flame Laura Anderson is asking him the questions about new Laura Crane (can you keep up?)

Old Laura makes the most of the fact he lies in one of his answers, digging: “It’s fine. You’re young. You don’t know what you want.”

But her smugness is short-lived after her current Paul Knops is put to the test—and it sounds like he doesn’t live up to expectations.

Elsewhere Alex George and Alexandra Crane—who spent the night in the hideaway—look like they are abut to go from hero to zero again after the doctor’s answers to the lie detector don’t exactly live up to expectation.

Crying, Alexandra says: “I think you just always want the person you like to like you back in the same way. I just know that I really like Alex.”

Pretty much all the boys seem to fail at least one hurdle, but whether this affects the odds in the final week remains to be seen...

Love Island continues tonight from 9pm on ITV2.
