Things are about to step up on Britain’s Got Talent as the contestants prepare for the live semi-finals.
After weeks of auditions (some more memorable than others) the final 40 acts will take to the stage once again as of Monday (May 28) in a bid to make it to the grand final.
Across the week, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams will welcome eight acts to the stage to perform for a chance of winning a life changing £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
But it isn’t just they judges they will need to impress—the public will be voting from their living rooms at home too.
Each night two acts will go through to the live grand final.
As well as performances from this year’s acts, a host of guest performers will take to the stage during the results shows as the semi-finalists wait to find out if they are one step closer to being crowned winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2018.
As it stands, Cowell’s golden buzzer singing duo Jack and Tim are the favourites to take the crown—the father and son act are around 5/1 with the bookmakers after impressing with their song ‘The Lucky Ones’.
Presenting duo Ant and Dec's golden buzzer act Marc Spelmann is second in the betting at 6/1 following his magic routine which featured a touching tribute to his two-year-old “miracle” daughter.
And third is Gruffydd Wyn Roberts, who sent tingles down the judges’ spine with his rendition of Nessun Dorma (see video below). He became Amanda's golden buzzer act, and is currently 8/1 to win the show.
Coral's Harry Aitkenhead said: ”Gruffydd was sensational on Saturday's show and with just one week left of auditions our betting shows that he is a genuine contender to go all the way and win it.”
”Jack & Tim have still attracted the most bets by far and it would be a major shock if they weren't in the mix by the final.”
The results show is at 9.30pm (after Coronation Street).
