Lisa Appleton braves 'Bushtucker trial' with tarantula in a bid for I'm a Celebrity appearance

Friday 1st December 2017

Fans of Lisa Appleton will know the reality star is always up for a laugh.

But this time it looks like she may have bitten off more than she can chew in her bid to outdo the stars of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

As the campmates battle it out on Bushtucker trials to win meals each day, the former Big Brother star has gone one better and made friends with a big hairy tarantula.

She starts off well until the eight-legged critter started slowly moving down towards her, ahem, “flower”.

The 49-year-old had enough by then and was so scared the critter was going to head further south she shouted out the famous “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” phrase – mixing up her words in the process.

She said: “Help me! Oh god he’s heading for my flower!

“I can’t do it, get it off. I’m a jungle get me out of here!”

Despite her fears, Lisa, a massive fan of I’m a Celebrity, said she’d love to head into the Australian outback and have a go at camp life.

“I’d absolutely love to try some of the Bushtucker trials,” she said.

The current series of I’m a Celebrity will see the first elimination on tonight’s show, with comic Shappi Khorsandi favourite to leave with Betfair at 15/8.

Kezia Dugdale is also in the running – Coral have just announced they are offering odds-on (4/6) that the politician will get the boot.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight on ITV for 9pm.
