Lisa Appleton has revealed the heartache of living on the opposite side of the world to her beloved daughter.
The reality TV star, who has hit hard times financially in recent months, enjoyed a bit of respite visiting Sophia Maria Appleton in Toronto following news of her engagement.
But despite enjoying a well-earned break following the stress of living in a treehouse with no electricity or running water, the 50-year-old was very emotional when the trip came to an end and the prospect of being more than 3,000 miles away from Sophia, 28, hit home.
Lisa is unlikely to see her daughter until next August at the wedding.
She told Reality Bite: “It’s very emotional living in different countries and I put on a brave face but I am praying I get to see her and my dog Henri, who lives with her, before the wedding.”
In an heartwarming goodbye filmed by Sophia’s fiancé Louis earlier this week (see video below), Lisa said: “Here’s my baby Sophia Maria Appleton. I love her so much.”
The pair—who look strikingly similar—embraced as Lisa recited a song she used to sing when she was a baby.
Lisa said: “This is what I sang Sophia from the day she was born until she was about 10.
“Baby, I love you. Thank you so much, I will see you soon.
“It’s been amazing to celebrate your engagement to Louis.”
But it all got a bit too much for an devastated Sophia, who asked for the camera to be turned off.
