Neil 'Razor' Ruddock sends warning to I'm a Celebrity campmates

Friday 16th November 2018

As the 10 campmates plunge into jungle life, a former I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star has a warning for them.

Neil 'Razor' Ruddock says it not all fun and games in the Australian outback—there are some pretty scary opponents to face.

Then former Liverpool player, who appeared on the show in 2004, says there are two dangers in particular you need to look out for during your time in camp.

He told Reality Bite (see video below): “They always told us, when you go in there, black spiders kill you, brown spiders don’t. Brown snakes kill you, black snakes don’t.

“On the first night this brown snake came through and I thought… ok, did they say black spiders, brown snakes, blue snakes, they kill you, right?”

Razor goes on to relive the experience that was shown on the ITV1 show where a king brown snake—the second deadliest snake in the world—made its way across camp and towards Kerry Katona.

Razor said: “I shouted ‘snake!’ This aborigine lad came in and put his hand down the rat hole. He said don’t worry, if the snake bites you, you have 30 mins to live and the doctor is only 10 mins away with the anti-venom.

“John Lydon pipes up and says, ‘what happens when the doctor comes in with the anti-venom and he gets bit, who’s be going to give the anti-venom to?' Which is a valid point.

“But in Australia that’s how they live. If you get bit, get some anti-venom.”

Razor, who was eliminated third in his year, says the hunger and tiredness creates a melting pot of emotions, meaning arguments are more likely.

He said: “They only show an hour’s footage so all they show are the good times you’re having, the arguments, the banter. Most of the time you’re just sitting there.

“Another three days the way you’re sitting I’m like, why are you sitting like that? Why’s he looking at me like that? It’s hard.

“You have to get up about 2.30 to 3am over there to go live here [the UK], so you’re hungry, thirsty, tired, and when you’re like that you’re at your most volatile.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! starts on Sunday on ITV.
