Singer Vanessa White's awful music knowledge baffles I'm a Celebrity viewers

Monday 4th December 2017

Vanessa White shocked I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers with her really bad music knowledge during a Bushtucker trial.

The Saturdays singer took part in Car Cruel Karaoke with Jennie McAlpine, which saw the pair humming along to well known songs with a critter in their mouth.

They had to guess the song and the artist to 10 songs to win stars, which converted to meals for camp.

But Vanessa baffled fans of the ITV reality series after failing to know that Bon Jovi sang the 80s rock hit Livin’ on a Prayer, despite her caving out a career in the music business.

She knew the song but had no idea who sang it.

When she found out, she said: “See I wouldn't know that.”

Kate Lawler, who won the third series of Big Brother, tweeted: “I can’t deal with her lack of music knowledge.

“WHAM! VANESSA! Last Christmas is by Wham! So annoyed I just threw my TV across the living room.”

Another twitter user said: “Omfg. Vanessa. Hand back your 'music industry' pass.”

Another said: “I’m confused how Vanessa is a music artist but doesn’t know any of the answers.”

She also struggled to name Wham! as the band that sang Last Christmas – she could only name George Michael as one of the singers – but hosts Ant and Dec let her off.

She only just managed to get Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen after plenty of prompting from Jennie, and even struggled with Stop by the Spice Girls.

Jennie managed to get all hers correct, meaning that the pair won eight stars for camp in total.

Ant said at the end of the trial that he expected more from the singer, and admitted they’d let her off on several occasions.

Dec added: “You're great with the songs, do you not care who sings them?”

Meanwhile bookies' favourite to leave Kezia Dugdale became the second person to be voted out of the jungle.

The politician followed Shappi Khorsandi who left on Friday’s show.

She said during her exit interview with Ant and Dec that she wanted to show that “not all politicians every politician looks like Stanley - old, white, male, pale and stale.

"I wanted to show that there is a variety of people out there."
