Stacey Dooley 'to win Strictly Come Dancing'

Friday 30th November 2018

Stacey Dooley is now a dead cert to win Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The bookmakers have her at 10/11 to win the BBC One dance show following another wave of bets made her the first contestant to go odds-on in the betting this series.

The BBC Three presenter and journalist was 8-1 as the celebrities took to the dance floor for the first time back in September, and became favourite at 3/1 in the middle of October.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “She didn’t set the world alight at first but she has gone from strength to strength on the dance floor and punters have been backing her for a long time.

“Now she’s odds-on it is beginning to look like it would be a surprise if she didn’t lift the Glitterball Trophy, and there would certainly be a few Coral customers collecting a Christmas bonus if she does.”

Joe Sugg is 9/4 to win the show, while all other contestants are given double figure odds ahead of this weekend.

Meanwhile Lauren Steadman (5/4 to be eliminated next) is the favourite to go this week ahead of Charles Venn (11/8).

It looks to be a straight battle between the two, while Ashley Roberts can be backed at 7/1.

Aitkenhead added: “There’s a sense that the other contestants would be guaranteed to survive if they ended up in the dance off, which leaves Lauren and Charles the two fighting to survive in our eyes.

“We make Lauren the favourite to go and she will need to lean on her strong public support again if she’s to make it through another week.”
