The Voice: Lydia Lucy reveals who she'd love to work with from the knockouts

Sunday 18th March 2018

It’s the knockouts and Lydia Lucy was delighted with the performances from round one.

In particular she was very impressed with the female singers – one of them so much that she revealed she'd love to work with them.

Lydia, who was a finalist in the ITV singing competition in 2016, gives her verdict on who she thinks shone in Saturday’s first knockout round in her latest Reality Bite vlog (below).

On Saturday, coaches will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Olly Murs were joined by their guest mentors to help their final six acts.

Craig David joined Olly, Leona Lewis and last year’s winner of Mo Jamil joined Team J-Hud, Kylie teamed up with Tom, and Will is teaming up with his band the Black Eyed Peas.

"I thought it was a pretty good episode with a lot of strong females on there,” Lydia said.

Those who got through this weekend were Lauren Bannon for Team Olly, Lucy Milburn for Team Tom, Tai for Team Will and Gayatri Nair for Team J Hud.

Speaking of Tai, who sung Jolene by Dolly Parton, Lydia said: “This was one of my favourite performances of the night.

“Very unique, bit of a risk, but I love a risk taker. Great stage presence, loved the originality of the song, loved the attitude. She was fierce, and I personally would love to work with her.”

The second knockout round will take place on Saturday from 8pm on ITV.
