The Voice UK is returning in 2019 – and for the first time trios will be eligible to apply

Thursday 8th March 2018

We've not finished this year's competition yet but already plans are in place for The Voice UK 2019.

The ITV singing show will for the first time allow trios to audition when it returns next year.

Up until now only solo singers and duos have ben allowed to enter the ITV competition.

This comes following the news that the singing show has been renewed for a third series by ITV after joining the channel in 2017.

Katie Rawcliffe, creative director of ITV studios, said: "We know there are many talented trios out there across the UK and we want to offer them the chance to show off their vocal harmonies on The Voice UK stage."

Already show producers are looking for singers to take part in next year’s competition, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to impress coaches Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson, apply via the ITV website.

The application welcomes all singing styles – so whether you’re the next Beyonce or next Dave Grohl you have an equal chance to show what you're made of and earn a place in the blind auditions with the hope of getting a turn (or four).

The Voice first launched on the BBC in 2012 and ran for five series until ITV toll over the rights for three additional series.

The singers that impress their coach the most remain in the competition with a chance of winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.
