The X Factor 2018: Highs and lows as 2 acts exit first live show

Monday 22nd October 2018

Well there you have it my gorgeous peeps, the first live show of The X Factor 2018—and what a first show it was.

I mean, even Peter Dickson (the show's voiceover guy) was so excited he got a contestant's name wrong.

I have to say though, Danny Tetley showed some amazing professionalism despite the technical issue and carried on to give a stellar vocal performance. I didn’t like the outfit, but the rest was amazing.

Scarlett Lee, girl, we have waited for a couple of years for you to perform on the live shows and I have to say, you smashed it (see video below). And thank goodness you have stylists to help you out—you looked a million dollars. After this performance Scarlett is my favourite to win the whole show. You can get her at 10/1 (see odds below).

I also have to mention Shan, her rendition of Imagine was beautiful. I can’t wait to hear more original music from this girl, otherwise she will just be labelled another Alexandra Burke or Leona Lewis—and let’s face it, musically speaking they are not doing much right now. She's still favourite to win at 7/4.

I was very disappointed in Misunderstood. I mean, come on—did Rak-Su split up and two of them join the lives shows? I loved these throughout the audition rounds but boy did they disappoint with their original song Chewing Gum. Crap chorus, no hook for me and will never be a hit, in my opinion.

Despite this, they're still 13/2 to win.

Little shout out to my Scouse family LMA choir (33/1) and Anthony Russell (20/1) both making my home city proud. Fingers crossed they smash it next week too—they have so much more to give.

Sunday saw 90s one hit wonder Janice Robinson, and never going to have hit Armstrong Martins in the sing-off. Both singers sounded quite desperate and over sung, but glad Armstrong went—for me he was nothing special. Also seeing the door was Olatunji Yearwood, who received the fewest public votes.

One thing before I go, the judges looked awful and need a bit of styling before next weekend #JustSaying.

Anyway I’ll be back next week.
