Top 5 reality shows on Netflix

Wednesday 12th September 2018

Netflix has a whole plethora of different shows available to watch. The streaming service is one that has entertained the masses for many years now, and those behind it keep doing their all to ensure original programming is a priority.

Despite the wide range of programming, not all of the original series and movies available on Netflix hit the mark—especially so when it comes to reality television.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to take a look at the top 5 reality shows on Netflix, so you can sift through all the rubbish and only watch the very best of what’s on offer.

5. Nailed It!

Nicole Byer hosts this brilliant baking show, which puts a twist on the usual format of bringing the best bakers around into the competition (see trailer below). Instead of celebrating genius, Nailed It! instead invites a group of terrible home bakers into the studio, with hilarious results.

If you’ve ever wanted to see Donald Trump in cake form, massacred by those who shouldn’t really ever be given baking utensils to work with, this is the perfect show for you. Plus, with 30-minute episodes, it’s an easily digested series that you won’t be able to help but binge.

4. Skin Wars

RuPaul may be best known for his work as the world’s leading drag queen, and of course as the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but what many people don’t know is that he also judges on a show called Skin Wars (see trailer below).

Here, talented body artists are given the challenge of painting human bodies to a particular theme, before being judged and potentially winning a hefty cash prize. Some of the designs they come up with are mind-blowing, proving that there is no limit to a person’s imagination.

3. Amazing Interiors

There’s something exciting about getting a glimpse into the homes of other people, whether we know of them or not. This show takes that to the max, showcasing what look to be ordinary houses from the outside, but include some of the most eccentric and exciting aspects of a home you could ever imagine.

Are you a fan of theme parks? Why not build a rollercoaster in your own garden? Do you love aquatic animals? Then get an indoor aquarium! All of this and more is shown off in our new favourite series to binge.

2. Chef’s Table

Chef’s Table has the distinct honour of being Netflix’s very first documentary series, with each episode profiling a world-renowned chef.

Don’t watch this one if you’re hungry, because by the time you come to the end of each episode, you’ll be running into the kitchen to try and create something similar to what you’ve just seen!

1. Queer Eye

When Netflix revealed they’d be reviving the Queer Eye series, fans of the original (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) were optimistic, but cautious enough not to get their hopes too high in case it was a let-down.

Fortunately, the new Fab 5 are some of the most relatable and loveable characters the small screen has ever seen (see trailer below). Already renewed for a third season, we can’t wait to see the boys hit the road again and change lives. This is proper feel-good television that has us laughing and crying in equal measure. Just a beautiful show.
