'What an explosive episode!' Lydia Lucy gives her verdict on The Voice UK's final battle round

Tuesday 13th March 2018

It’s hotting up on The Voice UK as we head into the knockout stage of the ITV singing competition.

And Lydia Lucy literally cannot wait to see the acts step up their game before the live rounds.

Lydia, who was a finalist in the ITV singing competition in 2016, gives her verdict on who she thinks shone in Saturday’s battles in her latest Reality Bite vlog (below).

This weekend coaches will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Olly Murs will be joined by their guest mentors to help their final six acts.

“What an explosive episode we had on Sunday night,” says Lydia.

“Next it’s the knockouts and then will be the live shows and I can’t wait for them, that’s my favourite part of the competition.

“Who is going to be in the final three? I know who mine are but who are yours?”

Saturday saw the final battle round where the final acts were chosen – and stolen – ready for the knockouts, which will take place over the next two weeks.

On Team Olly, Shane McCormack beat Ivy Paige and Lauren Bannon out-sang Debbie Aramide for a place in the knockouts.

Team Tom saw Ruti Olajugbagbe beat Saskia Eng, and Wayne Ellington beat Jade Williams.

On Team Will, Paige Young beat Wesu Wallace, and on Tema Jennifer, Gayatri Nair beat Ant & Ox.

Listen below for Lydia's thoughts on who got through, who was stolen and who crashed out...
