Britain's Got Talent | videos| contestants | 2014

AUDITIONS WEEK 1

There were three outstanding performers in Week 1

80 year old Paddy and her dancing partner Nico stunned the judges with Amanda Holden pressing the Golden Buzzer for the first tie on the series, ensuring that they would go throught to the semi finals.

Lucy Kay, looked stunning, sounded spectacular and had a highly charged backstory about bullying that ensured her four yeses.

Collabro looked like an altogether average boy band who had only been together for a month however once the music started the audience was treated to an operatic version of Star from Les Miserables that moved each and every judge on the panel.

AUDITIONS WEEK 2

After the launch, which promised a lot for this year's series of BGT, hopes were high for week 2, and whilst David Walliams pressed his Golden Buzzer, it was a mischevious move rather than one necessitated by brilliance. The three frontrunners were Darcy Oak, Lettuce Rowbotham and James Smith. Christian Spridon the soloist is through but will drop to the bottom in the style that Wagner did in the X Factor

David Oak stunned all the judges with his magic, with Simon extolling the fact that BGT had never seen as expert a magician.

Lettice Rowbotham may have had an unlikely name but her quirky personality and violin playing enchanted the judging panel.

James Smith at 15 launched into a rendition of Feelin' Good looking rather frail but soon got the audience on side with his voice and guitar playing.

This is the audition that compelled David Walliams to press his buzzer, for Christian Spridon, but as you will see, it was more out of wickedness than appreciation and many would argue that it was a waste of his privilege.

AUDITIONS WEEK 3

The three acts that rose to the surface in Week 3 were two solo singers and an impressive dance troupe Kings and Queens, but none of them took pole position on the bookies' leaderboard, although 14 year old Bailey McConnell came close.

AUDITIONS WEEK 4

Once again it was the singers who caught the judges' attention on Week 4 of the BGT audition process. The Jack Pack shot up the leaderboard to sit just behind Collabro and REAformed propelled Alesha Dixon to push her Golden Buzzer, although Kieran Lai's body popping was exquisite and the puppet Patsy May kept Variety Acts in the mix.

AUDITIONS WEEK 5

There was only one really stand out act in the auditions this week but the act that caught everyone's attention could well turn out to be the winner. Bars & Melody wowed the audience, the judges and led to Simon Cowell pressing his Golden Buzzer. Within hours the diminuitive duo soared to pole position on the bookies' leaderboard. This year's winner may well have been found. The only other act to really catch the eye was impersonator Jon Clegg, whose impersonation of Simon Cowell even got the mogul himself chortling.

AUDITIONS WEEK 6

WEEK 6  of the BGT Audition process was lean on talent, with few challengers for the title until Jodi Bird took to the stage, was dissed by Cowell and then roused the audience to a standing ovation as she proved Simon wrong. The Bookies did not send her to the top of the leaderboard but indicate a real chance that she will reach the final. Ed Drewett also made his mark and as a songwriter for Olly murs and One Direction has some credence.
