Doctor Who is a BBC science-fiction programme based on the Doctor. The Doctor, also called the Time Lord, is an alien who takes the form of a human while he protects the world in his TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension in Space).

The programme first started in 1963 and has racked up an impressive 26 seasons. There have been 12 different actors who have portrayed the role of the Doctor, with the most recent being Peter Capaldi. However, Jodie Whittaker has just been given the role as the first female Doctor.
