Manushi Chillar won Miss World 2017 – India's first win in the pageant in 17 years.

She said: "The last 4-5 days has been nothing short of a dream come true for me! Thank you for all the appreciation and love! I feel so blessed right now, my sincere apologies as I am unable to revert to each and everyone."

The ceremony was hosted by Sanya, China on November 18.

Miss Universe is taking place on Sunday, November 26.

Peaky Blinders is moving to BBC One to 'attract younger viewers' to the channel, revealed controller Charlotte Moore at Edinburgh TV Festival.

The hit gangster series has become a cult phenomenon on BBC Two since launching in 2013.

It’s played a key part in the incredible resurgence of drama on the channel over the last five years.

Israel win Eurovision while UK entry SuRie battles stage invader

Israel's Netta Barzilai has won the Eurovision Song Contest with her quirky offering 'Toy'.

The singer was awarded 529 points after a nail biting finish, beating favourites Cyprus into second place.

Elsewhere UK entry SuRie had to battle an unwelcome guest in the shape of a stage invader.

A man dressed in a shirt and bandana rushed onto the stage while she was singing 'Storm' and shouted: "Nazis of the UK media... We demand freedom."

SuRie finished third from bottom with 48 points.

The girls completed the ultimate team challenge in 9 mins and 58 seconds – two minutes faster than the boys.

When faced with choosing mates or dates to split the £40,000 prize money, 'fittest girl' Mettisse Campbell , voted for by the public vote, went with her team. Well done girls!
