Strictly Come Dancing Presenters

Bruce Forsyth Small

The glue of Strictly Come Dancing is surely the host of the show Bruce Forsyth. 82 in 2010 Bruce has been a welcome Saturday evening guest in British sitting rooms for decades presenting game showsThe Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and The Price is Right. Initially there was some debate in the press that Bruce would be too old to carry off hosting Strictly, but with his roots as a song and dance man and endless appearances on Sunday Night At The Palladium, the format was actually one that suited his CV.

A safe pair of hands for a family audience, reputed for his easily forgiven bad jokes, he is well equipped to act as a barrier between over zealous judges and nervous competitors. For the first time this year flu precluded him from attending a live show and so his 'old mucker' Ronnie Corbett stepped in.

With a raft of catchphrases throughout his career the only one which has any recognition is, 'you're my favourites' which he whispers to each and every couple after they have been grilled by the judges in an attempt to humourously soften the critical blows.

Tess Daly Small

Whilst Bruce Forsyth hosts the show on the dancefloor and interacts with judges and competitors alike after each dance Tess Daly, interviews the contestants in the off camera studio as they receive their scores from the judges.

Starting out as a model, it wasn't long before the combination of no nonsense northerness and glamour saw Daly moving into the world of television presenting. Married to fellow model Vernon Kay she has only missed hosting two episodes of the show when she was pregnant, being replaced by Natasha Kaplinsky former winner of the programme. She acts as the perfect sidecick to Bruce, echoing the days of Brucey and Anthea Turner on The Generation Game.

Claudia Winkleman Small

Whilst not presenting the main show Claudia Winkelman is intrinsically tied by her hosting of 'It Takes Two', the sister programme that appears nightly on BBC2. Although when Bruce was off with the flu she did take over Tess's backstage role.

Daughter of Eve Pollard, editor of The Daily Expess and Sir Nicholas Lloyd, it was inevitable that she would be drawn to the world of journalism, although television has always been her natural home rather than Fleet Street. Strictly has been the main vehicle for her success, fronting the 'It Takes Two ' programme since its inception in 2004.

Ronnie Corbett Small

National Treasure Ronnie Corbett stepped in on an isolated occasion when Bruce had flu to support Tess Daly on the dancefloor. Whilst loyal Bruce fans were concerned at his absence Ronnie was an effective safe pair of hands whilst he was away.
