Gary Barlow| X Factor | Judge| Final Six | Boot Camp | 2013

Gary Barlow Small

Gary Barlow has become the hard an of The X Factor over the last two years, emphasizing his desire to find quality musical talent. At times his honesty has seemed harsh, in a way that resonates with Simon Cowell's time on the panel, but he has earned  his place as someone whose praise is valued.

he has appeared at times to be so devoid of sentient that he could appear a little callous but the new Boot Camp format was his undoing in just te same way as it was for the other judges. With nowhere to run and nowhere to hide Barlow realised that as the only person to decide the fate of hs Boot Camp acts, he would have no one but himself to blame if he made the wrong choices.

The immensity of the task and the resposibilityof making or dashing someone's dream was as paralysing fo him as for the other three. With 4000 people in the live audiece the pressure was palpable.

The final six he chose were as follows:

ROUGH COPY

Rough Copy had been flagged up to do well this year from the outset having got through to Judges' Houses last year but ridiculously thay also hit the same prohibitive wall to their sucess, namely a visa issue for their lead singer. Kazeem Ajobe a key member of the three piece band apparently is once again unable to travel to New York with Gary Barlow so had to stand in the wings whilst his buddies inched their way to the Live Finals. As a two piece their range and depth is questionable and why Ajobe should still have visa issues similarily so. Can Barlow really side step this red tape come back to the UK and re instate Ajobe. These obstacles really do seem too high for Rough Copy to get anywhere near the finishing line this year.

MISS DYNAMIX

No Name are so called, or not called, as a result of one of those whimsical adventures by the judges to create a group from individual acts who did not make it as soloists. What a ridiculous idea. Or is it ?  Perhaps the success of a little known group called One Direction, who were formed in this way might change your mind! All of No Name have great voices and a great look, so some enthusiastic rehearsing could provide Gary with an opportunity for some real success

KINGSLAND ROAD

Although we have made mention of One Direction in this section already, it is the boyband Kingsland Rd who look and sound most like them. Nothing not to like about the cheeky chappies, but nothing original going on here. Gary will hope to bring in the teen vote with this gang, but the viewers voted James Arthur the winner last year, so Kingsland could easily be a little too ordinary for this year's X Factor.

CODE 4

It seems that the groups section is plagued with red tape. Code 4 had to become Code 3 at the Judges' Houses departure gate when one member had an issue with his visa. This time it was Mark Wyman who was banned from entering the United States. Of course losing a band member at this point in proceedings is as vital for Code 4 as it is for Rough Copy, but at least there will be three remaining contestants.

BRICK CITY

Of the final six in the Group section Brick City is the most originsl and has the best chance of success.  The four piece line up look and sound more original than the other groups and could bring something interesting to the competition. There has been a hint of nerves in their previous auditions so they will have to be careful not to let the excitement of being in New York with Gary Barlow overwhelm them.

XYRA

Xyra is the second all girl line up in the group section and unlike NO NAME will be hoping that having been together since school in Coventry that their knowledge of each other will be a real bonus. Energetic, fresh and with good harmonies, the girls look unlikely to emulate Litte Mix's success, its been done before Ladies!
