Sharon Osbourne | X Factor| Judge | Final Six |2013 | Boot Camp

Sharon Osbourne Small

After her absence from the X factor no one was sure how Sharon Osbourne would settle back into her judging role, especially with Gary Barlow and Nicoke Scherzinger now comfortably encsonced in their seats. The transition has however gone particularly well, she seems to have not only a rapport with all her colleagues but also has maintained and developed a warmth that the contestants and hence the audience are really warming to.

If the audience likes a judge they will by default support their proteges, which will be good for the Overs section, that has not always been so popular. The new format of Boot Camp threw osbourne into more emotional turmoil and bodes well for the support she will give her acts.

The final six she chose were as follows:

Sam is not only a favourite with the audiences but with the judges and the bookies as well. It seems almost certain that she will make it to the LIVE SHOWS although it is always wise to remember that it is equally certain that Judges'  Houses will throw up some surprises. Sam's charm comes from her stunning vocals but is supported by an ordinariness that is endearing. As a prison officer she turns the unremarkable into the remarkable with average looks and a very plain dress sense her voice captures the hearts of her audience and her appearance is of no consequence.

Here on whollwin.com, Andrea has already been flagged up as the dark horse of the competition. She has all the presence and look of a mature performer and that confidence may come from the fact that she is secure in her musicianship as an ex music teacher and has been spending her time gigging since retiring from that profession. She is by no means in the usual X Factor mould and brings an originality which X Factor viewers seem to be clamouring for. Sharon sees real potential in Andrea and seems unlikely to let her out of her grasp.

This is Joseph's second attempt at X Factor glory and it very nearly came to an end at this stage when Nicole and Gary suggested to Sharon that he had the weakest voice. He has a presence on the stage with his overly muscular, tattooed physique and was popular with the female members of the audience but his voice certainly does not have the range or depth of the other contenders. Much has been made of his role as a father, with his son appearing alongside him on all of his X Factor auditions. Whilst this is great PR for Joseph it is not a reason for him to stay  until the LIVE SHOWS. As the only man in this section Sharon may feel she wants to balance her category with a male voice but he will have to do a lot more at Judges' Houses to earn his place.

Zoe  has the sort of original look and sound that the X Factor is embracing more and more these days, so it was no surprise when Sharon chose her as one of her final six. Waitress Zoe has a three year old daughter which adds to her PR marketability but she can certainly sing as well. Refreshingly original she could certainly get through to the LIVE SHOWS as long as her nerves hold out and Sharon is willing to back an act that is a bit different.

There is no doubt that Devonian Shelley has an extraordinary voice however there is rather too much cabaret in her performance at the moment. She seems to be both funny and likeable but it will be hard for Sharon to imagine her filling any space in the music industry at the moment. he has certainly gained her place as a result of her vocals and deservedly so but she will have to rid of herself of some over acting and shed some camp moves to get any further.

Lorna is the soul diva of the Overs section and as such strengthens the group. She has regularly belted out some powerful performances during the X Factor process. In years gone by there would be little doubt that she would get to the LIVE SHOWS but nowadays oth judges and audiences are looking for something more original. With Zoe and Andrea in this category it looks as if Lorna may lose out to more original performers.
